PostSubject: Slow Poke Build "The Black Bandit"   2nd July 2012, 7:34 pm

First topic message reminder :

Ok so just to let everybody know this is to keep track of my build. parts will be put on whenever i have the cash to do them or find a good deal.

all the pics to follow are form the day i got my jeep to present so here we go

this is what it looked like the day i got it home

this was one of the first things i did was to take the stock flairs off and see if i like it this way didnt know that it would be about a year untill i acutualy got a set big enough to acutualy trim them

then i got bord with the overheating issue i had and made a lovered hood and it acutualy turned out pretty good i think

[IMG]https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/288319_2322811558551_1497469850_2586545_1267727_o.jpg[/IMG

my high tech tools in use

finished product

this was taken for a compairsin shot of my fender trimming but i could use it for my paint also

when i started trimming my fenders i used this

and found out real fast that i need to get something bigger to do this (this was about 4 disks and about 20 min of work):brickwall:

talked to a friend at work and came up with this

the first pic was a shot to show how i was doing it and the second shot is the finished product both fronts took about 30 to 45 min total

this is what i had left over when i was done

inner fender anyone had to remove

after all this i needed to paint i started with the upper body line to see if i would even like it
the stuff i used is in the first pic and then some of the process and then the finished product

here is what it looks like up close

so i like how this stuff looks and i decided to go over board and here is what i came up with

all finished for now so here so a poser shot more to come

shame I didn't get on this site earlier. I junked a 90 cherokee 2 door back in the spring. It was my donor for the MJ.

Let me know if you need any help or anything. I still have a couple of small parts left.

you should grab those side windows with the vents on the 2 door at pull-a-part, there only $20.71 a piece.

its acutualy from an XJ its a very rare tire carrier that was put on the 85- about 89 i think is what i was told

most came with the carrier that mounted to the side of the jeep and bumper my wifes old 87 had one and then there was this one that just mounts to the bumper

here is the other style on my wifes old 87

Yep, we need pics of that front bumper and winch. I still haven't seen it with the winch on yet.

if you have a smartphone download the Photobucket app. makes life easy lol. then the [IMG] code is already in a box to the side of the pic. just copy and paste it in your message here and your done.
